Beach Clean up Te Amo & Donkey Beach

Press Release STCB

Beach Clean up

Date: Saturday , 12th of May 2018

Time: 8.30 am - 11am

Although sea turtles spend most of their lives in the ocean, they do rely on clean sandy beaches to reproduce. Debris on the beach, including plastics, cans, beach furniture and wooden pallets as well as walls built of stones and rocks are obstacles that prevent them from nesting and reduce their nesting area. Garbage is also a huge hurdle for hatchlings to cross.

For this reason, Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire (STCB), STINAPA’s Junior Rangers, WILDCONSCIENCE and Selibon are organizing a large clean-up at Te Amo and Donkey Beach on Saturday May 12th; and they are hoping that the community will lend them a helping hand!
