BES(t) 4 Kids extends childcare place subsidies

Press Release RCN

It is the ambition of BES(t) 4 kids to to offer high-quality, safe and affordable childcare and afterschool care for all children in the Caribbean Netherlands by 2022. A first concrete step to make childcare accessible to all parents is now being taken by expanding the number of subsidized places. With this, more parents are able to use childcare and afterschool care.

Daycare and afterschool care are not free. To make these facilities accessible to everyone, the public entities make money available for subsidized childcare places. For parents who meet certain conditions, a subsidy is provided to the daycare center. Under the flag of BES(t) 4 kids, the public entities have worked hard over the past period to increase the number of subsidized places. On Bonaire, the income limit has also been increased.

Parents living on Bonaire with a maximum income of $ 1349 (single) or $ 1835 (joint income) who are not in the financial position to fully pay for childcare, can be eligible for a subsidized childcare place. In such a case, the daycare center is subsidized on the basis of an indication. Additional terms and conditions may apply.
