Glam Glow Look

XpBonaire IslandLife Beauty & Skin Care

Our endless summer is the perfect setting for our Glam – Glow Makeup Tutorial with one of our Island’s beauties – Lusinda. We turn Lusinda, our model, from a natural beauty into a glam goddess using many of our favorite products that you will find at the DA Druggist on the island.

Create the perfect canvas

Primer, concealer, make up, bronzer, highlighter and contour create a smooth base and makes your skin look perfect and healthy and your features chiseled.

STEP 1: PRIMER (L’Oreal Magic Perfecting Base)

Using a Primer can help to give you an even canvas to work on, as it can help smooth lines and difuse pores. Choose a primer with a glowing finish if you have dry skin or a primer with a matte finish if you have oily skin.

STEP 2: COLOR CORRECT (Pupa Cover Cream Concealer)

Do you have dark circles or redness you want to hide? Now’s the time to use a color correcting concealer to cover it up. Peach, bisque, or orange can disguise dark circles or discolorations, green can neutralize the look of redness. Simply blend a small amount of color-correcting concealer onto targeted areas using your finger or a sponge.

STEP 3: FOUNDATION (Fit Me Maybelline Matte & Poreless)

Your face wouldn’t be complete without a little foundation! There are so many different kinds of foundation out there, so choose one that suits your needs. For example, if you have oily skin, you may want to consider using a matte (a.k.a. non-shiny) finish foundation. On the other hand, if you have dry skin, a radiant finish foundation might be a better option for you. Whichever foundation you choose, one of the best ways to apply it is with a makeup blender.

STEP 4: CONCEALER (Maybelline Instant Age Rewind)

Finish the cover up and brightening process by applying a lighter concealer on top around your eyes, nose, chin and forehead. Blend and buff the concealer into your skin.

STEP 5: CONTOUR, BRONZER, BLUSH, AND/OR HIGHLIGHTER (Pupa Contour Palette, Highlighter Maybelline Master Chrome)

Next up: Contour the shape of your face, nose and cheekbones. Get your glow on or fake a rosy tone by applying a little bronzer, blush and highlighter. As far as bronzer and highlighter go, put them on areas where the sun would naturally hit your face (your forehead, nose, cheekbones, and chin). When it comes to blush, apply some to the apples of your cheeks—and remember to smile while doing so.

EYE MAKEUP

STEP 1: EYEBROWS (Milani Stay Put Brow Color)

Shape and fill in your eyebrows with a pencil, powder or pomade to help create a well-defined arch and finish it off with some brow gel.

STEP 2: EYE SHADOW (Pupa Metallic Green, Milani Bold Obsession)

When applying eye shadow, follow this guide. First, dust color onto your lids, then follow up with a crease color, and finally, place a dab of highlighter along your brow bone. Of course you can use any color you fancy, but for this look we used a lot of gold, green, black and red.

STEP 3: EYELINER (Ultra Liner Waterproof Maybelline and gold liner )

We’ve found that it’s easiest to apply eyeliner before mascara, but after eye shadow. Reach for a waterproof eyeliner pencil, if you want to make sure it stays the whole day and night.

STEP 4: MASCARA (Voluminous Lash Paradise /Ardell Lashes and Glue)

The final step in your eye makeup application routine? That should be mascara! After finishing with your mascara you can always decide to use some false lashes for an extra dramatic look for when you are going out.

LIP MAKEUP

STEP 1: LIP LINER (DA)

Consider lining your lips. This can help prevent color from feathering and you can correct your lip outlines a little. Choose a lip liner that’s the same shade or a bit darker as your lipstick and outline the natural line of your lips to help make your pout look fuller.

STEP 2: LIPSTICK (L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Liquid Lipstick)

Kiss, kiss! Once you’ve prepped your lips with liner, go ahead and swipe on the lipstick shade of your choice. With so many different colors available, the possibilities are basically endless because you can blend different colors. Apply some gloss in the middle of the lips to create some extra volume and shine on the lips.

SET YOUR MAKEUP LOOK (DA)

Congratulations! You’ve officially finished all of the steps of the Summer Glow Make-up Routine. Now, help set your look by spritzing on a setting spray. To use, shake well and hold the bottle 8-10 inches away from your face. Close your eyes and spray it four to six times in an X and T motion. And there you have it! Enjoy creating this look.
