It is prohibited to have open fires on the beaches of Bonaire

Press Release STINAPA

During the weekend 20th to 22nd of March STINAPA received a couple of notifications about camp fires on “Pal’i mangel beach” also known as Donkey Beach.

This was an opportunity to break the law as people preparing for the camping in holy week has left stacks of pallets unattended on the beach. We want to emphasize that it is against the law to have open fires on any of the beaches here on Bonaire and to also leave remnants of fire on the beach. We would also like to add that it is very irresponsible to leave pallets unattended on the beach. Because not only does it hinder other users from using our beaches, it also a safety hazard due to the nails that are stuck to these pallets.

We want to request everyone’s cooperation in keeping our beaches free of litter including pallets and to not make open fires on any of the beaches here on Bonaire under any circumstance
